INTRODUCING THE APRIL WATCH OF THE MONTH The Ascot When it came to designing a watch named the Ascot, I wanted to be sure that I epitomised the famous racecourse after which it was named. I felt that the watch should perfectly complement any Ladies Day outfit so delicate colours that blended well felt really important to me. Obviously the highlight of any Ladies Day outfit is surely "the hat" - the bigger and more extravagant, the better. So when choosing accessories I feel they should allow the rest of the outfit to shine. With this in mind, I deliberately chose a smaller 23mm case with a classic domed finish on the glass, and a really pretty sunray dial in either traditional gold or up to the minute rose-gold giving the watch a lovely finish. As with all watches I design at O.W.L Great Britain, I only use premium quality materials - so the strap is made using a beautiful soft Italian leather, with a delicate shoulder tab that displays the O.W.L logo. I'm proud of this watch and think it's a beautiful example of simple British craftsmanship and design. |
