Many years ago I had never been abroad knowing that my husband to be booked us a romantic honeymoon to Paris via coach, money was tight at the time.
He told everyone we would be going to Paris the next day at the wedding.
That evening we returned home with a few guests sadly among the letters was a letter from the coach company saying it had to cancel trip due to lack of interest, devasted was I.we managed to book a ferry to Belgian not quite the same but abroad.

At our wedding reception (45 years ago), a friend of my new in laws stood up to make a speech and called me Janet instead of Judith. I also burnt a hole in my veil by lighting up after the ceremony (gave up soon after) and my husband was left famished as he was too nervous to eat before his speech and then found everything had been cleared away. A memorable day and a lovely one. 🥂🍾

After getting married we spontaneously went to the nearby field to take pictures next to the hay bails. I totally struggled to climb up on them, but was well up for it. It then started raining. But still it was all good and so much fun! :-D xx

Our daughter babbled all the way through us saying our vows! She was sat on my mum’s knee chattering away!! It was hilarious, every time one of us went to speak she would say da da da!!!! Bless her!

It was my friends wedding, bride looked amazing so beautiful, everything was going perfectly. The ceremony was in place and the groom was saying his vows. I …..take…. well let’s just say it would of gone a lot smoother if he hasn’t of said his ex wife’s name! Haha! It’s not a bad case of deja vu.

My Family hated the Man I was in love with ,after telling us we’d never last they stopped all contact , On the day of our wedding we’d booked the registry office but didn’t have any witnesses , at ten minutes to go my man said well if you can’t find anyone in the next ten minutes its off . I grabbed a couple from a shop who were on holiday in the area and asked them to witness our marriage , they obliged , after the ceremony hubby got a cab home and I went food shopping ! Might not have been the perfect day for many but I married my soulmate .In June this year we celebrate our 32nd Anniversary …And they said it wouldn’t Last !

My funny story is, my husband David is a roofer and when we got married, we came out of the church and all I saw was my husbands works van (it has the tipper on the back so is open). It had been covered with white netting and in it had two plastic chairs on the back of it. My husbands work colleagues had dressed up like the mafia with dark glasses and hats on and took us both over to where the van was situated. My husbands work colleague went to take the side of the van down so we could get on the back, as he did that it fell off !!!! everyone was in stitches laughing, they still expected me to get on the back of it mind. I did get on the back of it in all my refinery and then when they went to leave the driver stalled the van and we both jolted forward. It was a very funny moment and no one expected me to get on the back of the van but I proved them all wrong. It was one of the best days of my life and we are celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary on July 4th. I have the funniest photo of me and my husband in stitches, I wish I could have sent it to show you

We’ve been filming and photographing weddings for nearly 20 years now and have a few funny stories to tell, of grooms speeches gone wrong and brides gracefully tripping up the aisle, but the most memorable one, was a real gypsy wedding with a comedy of errors (wish we could have sold the footage when they were airing Real Gypsy Weddings on TV!) There were 2 brides, best friends, marrying their true loves. The one bride held up the proceedings by an hour and a half (no exaggeration!) because she couldn’t find her wedding shoes! (She could have worn Doc Martins under her dress and you wouldn’t have been able to see as it was a beautiful 90’s meringue-style dress!!) Anyway, they eventually got to the church, where the poor church minister married the one couple with the wrong rings and they had to re-bless the rings for the correct couple. Then a guest received a loud phone call in the middle of the ceremony and walked in front of our cameras to answer the call (loudly) walking past the aghast bridal couples at the altar to walk out the church to take the call! And then to top it all off their over-the-top fabulous cakes had bridges across from one cake to the next and the bridges collapsed during the reception! All the while, we were being utterly professional and keeping a very calm exterior, but upon watching the footage to edit their wedding video, we were squealing with laughter!

We have been married for 6 years. My hen do was all planned & I was excited about going to MK for the first time in a long time. I had an 8 week old little boy & unfortunately that night my awful first time of the month decided to make an appearance. I was in a lot of pain with my stomach with the cramps & I only lasted 2 hours ok my own hen do. I was so bad I was sick in my friends car. Not from alcohol but from the awful time of the months I have suffered from. So I did not enjoy my hen do sadly

When we got married I was very nervous about saying my vows in front of all of our friends and family. So much so when I got to the part ‘I take my lawful wedded husband’ I actually said very loud and clear ‘awful’ wedded husband! This made everyone laugh and I had to repeat the line with a stight face (almost) so all nerves disappeared! We have the DVD to look back on that very funny moment. It was a beautiful day and we have many fond memories as well as my fopar! 😊

I cannot take the credit for this one – it’s all my friend!! We were fussing around at a reception waiting to be seated for dinner and she came across all hot and bothered. When we asked her what was wrong she admitted that she had somehow squeezed herself into her dress this morning which was slightly on the tight side – you couldn’t tell but she was obviously uncomfortable. We didn’t think too much of it and proceeded to continue with the prosecco! Roll on halfway through the starter and all we could hear was ‘PING…PING PING PING…PING’ and the poor soul’s dress had just popped open along the length of her back seam!
Everyone just looked up open mouthed around the table and after a few seconds everyone, including my friend, burst into laughter. It was the best ice breaker for the table! We all pulled together to fashion a pashmina out of the chair bows to cover her modesty whilst one of the big burly men was kind enough to lend a jacket for the remainder of the meal as to not bring any more attention. As soon as the meal and speeches were over and everyone cleared the room for tables to be moved we made a swift exit to the bedroom to change into a spare dress we had between us. She got quite a few looks as I’m sure it’s only the bride who normally has an outfit change! She styled it out well and we all had a laugh with the bride about it the next day when we filled her in – she was glad we had saved this story for the next day as it meant that all the excitement wasn’t over yet!

Clearly we blamed the bubbles in the prosecco for being the straw that broke the back!

I went to my younger sisters wedding last year and it was lovely seeing her get ready untill the hair stylist looked at me and said mum of the bride do you want your hair doing , everyone thought it was hilarious but then when I was outside getting ready for photos the photographer came over and called me mum of the bride aswell .

Me and my partner went to his friends wedding and sat in what We thought were ours seats as we sat down and realised the groom seemed to be very late once he rushed to the alter we were sat there by 20 mins by this point we realised we didn’t recognise the groom we presumed it was an usher then it wasn’t till the bride walked down the aisle we realised it was the wrong wedding and we were sitting inns strangers wedding the groom must have thought they were the brides friends and vice versa. What was worse we bumped into the couple as the wedding we were meant to be at (which we just made luckily) was across the hall to there’s.

At my sons wedding both his father and I were in our wheelchairs. He had got his dad a top hat but very much to big ,every time the wheelchair moved if fell over his eyes.
The person pushing his wheelchair didn’t do to well and he kept slipping down and not being able to move the chair then.
Day before we had had the rehearsal and did the going out in pairs, bride and groom then me and her dad then my husband and her mum. Myself her dad and bride and groom was outside for what felt like ages,no one else had followed,my son went inside to find out what was happening and there was my husband, feet on the floor and not putting them up (he had dementia) but he had everyone at the back of him trying to get out,he had held everything up as someone had told him the food was going to be nice and he wanted it right at that moment and wasn’t going to move til he got it,biscuit sorted things out lol

Our wedding story was not so funny but a really Memorable one 💝.
Please bear with me till end..
My husband and I met 2yrs ago in an online dating site. After a year,he decided to meet me in person in my home country in pH🇨🇿. It was love at first sight to both of us.We found out we share the same likes and interests in life as well.I found my Prince charming and my ideal husband in him.
To cut the story short,we decided to get married afterwards.
On the day of our wedding, I was really nervous and very excited as well.By the way I make and design my own bridal flower bouquet. So,then I
Got long time to finish my make over and
All of the people, bridal entourage including him were there already in church patiently waiting for me …When I came in at the back of the church they thought I’m ready ..not yet really lol
They need to wait another minutes cause they need to put my veil on and my heels ..lol
Then ,,Chennennnnn🎉It’s my time to walk in the aisle I feel like floating in the air while looking at my groom.I can’t believe It was actually happening been a dream come true for me.
The ceremony started and then it’s time to kiss the bride 💏 I was bit shy to be kissed in public lol..we’re notso PDA actually,,so yeah he kissed me then after that He got lipstick stain on his mouth 😅..
The reception was held in a naturistic themed called Bamboo garden..greeny view ..It was nice and the food was delicious as well. Its my husband’s first time to eat whole roasted pig and he really loves it..I feel like I was the happiest girl in the world that time.My entire family was there and of course my lifetime partner.
We had a honeymoon in a nice garden hotel for 3 days and then Sad to say He need to leave to comeback here .
My whole world stoped as I said goodbye to him in airport but I know it’s not forever..
6 months being apart from my husband was a turture to me that’s why I’m so happy when he said he’ll be coming back to my country again ,We met again and continue our honeymoon 😍..
After few weeks,he need to go back k here again. As usual I’m in blue ,Til one morning I wake up feeling unusual and Then we learned I am pregnant ..Such a very big news to us ..like the best wedding gift ever .He then hurry to process my papers and me taking Exams for visa requirements .It was a roller coaster ride to both of us .But very worth it.I got my visa approved with 6 months old baby in my tummy..fly in the plane to UK nearly 7months and give birth here last December 2017 to a beautiful, cheeky little girl..Now my happiness is competed.I cannot asked for more.I find my Castle and my everafter in my small happy family here in UK👪💝💞

Thanks for reading my wedding and after the wedding story xx

Lol he hadn’t been abroad for years and let’s justbsay he took well advantage of the all inclusive bar! Lol my guests thought my dad was the man and loved his drunk dancing! The next day he wasn’t allowed a drink until he’d walked me down the aisle! Lol x 🍀😂🍀

Mine was attending a friend’s wedding at the other side of the country. I didn’t have a plus one, so my boyfriend at the time had to wait at the hotel during the ceremony and dinner. Unfortunately, I was a little too keen on the wine served with dinner and when I went up to get changed I promptly fell asleep. I woke up at midnight having missed the party – and having also missed the fact that my boyfriend had gotten a taxi to the train station to go home! Funnily enough, wer’re not together anymore! xx

I can’t believe Meghan Markle and Prince Harry keep copying us ….. Our wedding was booked two years ago for the 19th May 2018. We have since found out it’s the same day as the Royal Wedding. I am known by my middle name Megan and Meghan is also her middle name (unfortunately my fiancé’s name is not Harry). For my hen I went on a spa break and a few days later read Meghan was going on a spa break for her hen. The flowers we have chosen are pink peonies and in the paper Meghan’s flowers are believed to be pink peonies. There’s rumours they will be honeymooning in Greece which is where we are also going so we’ll probably be on the beach together …. I’m just hoping she doesn’t copy my dress on the big day haha xx

Our wedding day, 47 years ago this June, was a very small affair. Hubby and I set off that evening to Cornwall for our honeymoon. We had decided to stay for the night in a hotel just the other side of London and then finish the journey the following day. Luckily they had a room but it was immediately above their function room where they were having a do, and very noisy. Trying to get romantic to the sound of ‘March of the Mods’ was extremely difficult. We often laugh about it.

We met online 4 years ago all his mates knew we had clicked but they kept telling me he’s a bachelor that’s his life, I proposed to him he said no I was gutted but promised he’d be with me for life so he bought me an eternity ring. Another year down the line he just gets out of bed comes around my side goes on one knee with tear in his eye and proposes we had lovely day shopping for ring which he picked even though he was going to let me pick my own, we getting married in October so headed back to jewellers where engagement ring was from we were thinking just something simple and silver to match my ring but oh no there’s a wedding ring to match my engagement ring we on tight budget as brought wedding forward I’m Veteran with mobility issues and really wanted my son to take me those few steps to meet my new hubby, his face was picture when we were told the price of my ring but the smile on my face closed the deal he then says I’m quite happy with one at £9.99 omg I’m sat in wheelchair waiting for ground to open.. but to have matched watches on our day would be fabulous we need something new to keep it traditional

we got married 39 yrs ago and things were alot different then. The venue for our reception was in the back room of a local pub and as it was a chilly day in march they had lit the fire in the big fireplace. we were seated not to far from the fire with our backs to it. The wedding cake was a traditional 3 tier iced cake and the heat of the fire had started to make the icing go soft and we could see the cake start leaning like the leaning tower of Pisa. we had to quickly hold it up straight while it was taken away somewhere cooler.

I have a Royal Wedding story from Camila and Charles wedding. My friend was outside in the crowd, but to let us all know he was definitely there, he did a streak! He’s never lived it down, and of course, we’re all asking if we’re about to get a repeat performance, but we’ve been reassured his streaking days are over!

We got married 33 years ago – we saved up and paid for everything as our parents weren’t able to help. Everything went smoothly apart from one thing. As we arrived at the wedding venue the photographer took us into the dining room for photographs before the guests entered to sit down. One of the waiters was placing our wedding cake on the top table and it collapsed – it was a 3 tier cake and the icing collapsed under one of the pillars. He was mortified and couldn’t stop apologising – we just laughed and reassured him to stop worrying. If that was the worst thing that was going to happen life would be good and we’re happy to say it has been.

I got married in 1999 and we had a small wedding. My husband’s best man started his speech with probably the worst line ever in the history of wedding speeches – “I know he didn’t have the greatest upbringing….” – my mother-in-law’s face was a picture and if looks could have killed, the best man would have dropped dead on the spot, the whole room fell silent and it was captured on video for all prosperity.

I was shopping one Saturday morning and met an old school friend I hadn’t seen for about 6 years. ‘I’m getting married this afternoon she says and we’ve had some cancellations, would you like to come?’ I was chuffed to bits and the church service was beautiful … we all arrive at the reception venue and I found myself shaking hands with the welcome line-up … bride, groom, bride’s mother etc etc and someone taps me on the shoulder to shake my hand … followed by someone else …. and so on until I realised I had inadvertently joined this line of VIPs. I just thought everyone was being really friendly until I spotted the bride’s father glaring at me and the truth dawned … the trouble was, I couldn’t just walk away as the other 60 or so guests were all working their way along the line. At the time I was mortified although kept smiling and shaking hands but later on, had flashbacks of very confused relatives trying to figure out who I was. Even now, I think about it and smile.

We got married just before Christmas in Naval church and had our reception at a nearby military hospital. First of all the wedding had to be put back an hour because the Padre was playing Widow Twanky in the Naval base pantomime and dress rehearsals were that morning and he would need time to remove his make-up before the ceremony! Afterwards we invited the Padre to join us at the reception. He was only too pleased to accept and said it would be very convenient for him as he was on Mortuary duty for the weekend and if called upon he could easily slip out to the morgue and back again quickly. On arrival at the reception sherry was offered to the guests and (again) the Padre leaned over to me and and asked “do you think anyone will notice if I help myself to another?” and not to worry if there wasn’t enough as he had a bottle of gin in the car outside!

This must have been where the gin came from that he and the Verger tricked me with. During the signing of the register I got a tickly cough and the Verger offered me a glass of water. I took the water and swallowed it down, only to nearly choke on what turned out to be neat spirit!

On the the evening reception and my dear old Mum insisted we were should spend our wedding night in a nice hotel (we were off to Paris on the Monday) and we should be traditional and leave early which we reluctantly did.

Our guests were quite a mixture of relatives, naval personnel and friends which included a lot of bikers.

As I mentioned earlier, the reception was in the hospital, and the bikers, after we had left, with the help of some drunken sailors found a wheelchair bay close to the mess were the party was being held…and races down the hospital corridors ensued!

I think it was probably a good idea that we left early after all….or maybe it was fun we should have been part of.

Me and my husband Rich have been married 6 years on 31st May. We were living in the West midlands, we booked a camping holiday in North Wales (Shell Island) but we also secretly booked a registry office near by. We turned up, pitched our tent and went off and got married . We got married in our camping gear, and they provided us with some witness’s and took photo’s for us. We celebrated back at the tent with champagne out of tin mugs. It was amazing just as we wanted it. We now have a 2 year old and have moved to North Wales .

I got married 36 years ago so it was the done thing to have your reception in the village hall, which we did. We hired a disco to play the music and had everyone up and dancing once the food and speeches were over. It was a fabulous day, most memorable because my new Uncle-in-law (in his 70s) decided to get up and have a jig with an elderly neighbour. As they bopped away Uncle Bill’s false teeth (which were a little too large for him) flew out of his mouth and old Mrs Milton, his dance partner, caught them! Hilarious

It wasn’t at my own wedding but I attended a friends wedding who is yet to start her own family but she treats her dog like a fur baby!!! She planned for this gorgeous and ridiculous pug to be ring bearer for the church service. He was looking good to go… dressed in his little doggy suit, but he must have gotten stage fright. He refused to walk up the aisle with the best man and had to be pulled along unwillingly, looking very confused, then as he reached the front of the room promptly made a deposit next to the vicar! Poop bags were whizzed promptly to the front yo clean the mess to a thunder of applause and the rowdiest church congregation I have ever seen!!!

The guests were getting restless in the church at a friend’s wedding as the bride was half an hour late. Finally the best man rushed up the aisle to stand beside the groom announcing on the way that the bride had arrived. She appeared at the back door of the church looking wonderful and the organist started playing the Wedding March. He was drunk and it was almost unrecognizable! We all spent the rest of the service desperately trying not to laugh every time he played.

A small group of us were invited to a colleague’s wedding where we knew nobody, after the drinks reception we headed down to the main reception room, there was no seating plan so we just sat down at a table in the corner and made small talk with the other people at the table while we waited for the bride and groom to enter. However once the bride and groom were announced we realised that we didn’t know them. Turns out the hotel were hosting two weddings that day so we had to skip out quietly and find the other reception room quickly.

I make wedding cakes so have a few stories to tell but the funniest was a wedding where the best man had forgotten his trousers. There was mass panic trying to think of ways to get him a pair suiteable (it was hot so he had on board shorts) I had finished putting the cake together and ended up offering to rush to the village charity shop for a pair (the nearest shops were a good hour round trip away) needless to say I got a lovely thank you card!!

At my cousins wedding we all stood to sing the first hymn. Our son, who was 2 at the time, wanted to join in and sang the only song he could think of. When we all started the hymn he was heard to sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, we watched the ripple of laughter spread along the pews as people tried to continue to sing in vain. A memorable occasion.

At a work colleagues wedding last year, I (probably quite stupidly!) took my then young child to the church service. She sat through most of the service quietly but then right at the part of the service where the vicar asked if anyone had a reason why the bride and groom shouldn’t marry, she loudly sad ‘Mummy, I need to go pee pee’! Needless to say I was mortified and quickly took her out of the church, to the toilet! Luckily the bride and groom saw the funny side and were really lovely about it!

Our wedding was lovely, everything was perfect, but during the speeches my husband thanked my mum for all of her help, and said we have some flowers for you, to which one of the venue’s waiters bought over a huge bouquet. . . .and handed them to my older sister!!! She was mortified(as he is only 10 years older) I found it hilarious as did my mum, but my sister sulked the rest of the day!!

On the morning of the wedding my parents were so drunk I had to help dress them, then they made me so late the register office had to perform the short version of the ceremony at top speed …. blah de blah de blah de blah! I couldn’t stop giggling for hours !!!

My husband was having trouble getting my wedding ring onto my finger and the vicar loudly whispered repeatedly for him to screw it on, unfortunately the wedding video caught every word!

We got stuck in traffic for an air show, on route to one wedding. We turned up with 5 mins to spare and had to both get changed in a car park. We just made it! 🙈

Mine was when my husband went and sat down in church half way through our ceremony. Our best man was called Steve as is my husband so when the vicar said “you can sit down now Steve” to the best man, my husband walked off and sat down leaving me at the altar on my own!
